The “MCT” stands for “medium-chain triglycerides”, the fatty acids that contain between six and 12 carbon molecules. Animal fats tend to contain more long-chain triglycerides (more than 12 carbon molecules), as do many nuts and seeds.
Medium-chain triglycerides, however, are far less common—found mainly in milk (cow, goat, and, yes, human), palm oil, and coconut oil.

Long-chain fatty acids go through a number of digestive steps before they can be absorbed into the liver to be turned into energy. Medium-chain fatty acids, however, don’t require any pancreatic enzymes or bile to be digested, and they’re transported directly from your small intestines into the liver, where they can be turned into energy.
Basically, medium-chain triglycerides are easier for your body to use more quickly.
